Seen by over 50 million people around the world, Disney’s internationally-acclaimed musical THE LION KING will have its Southeast Asian Premiere when it opens at the Sands Theater at Marina Bay Sands®.
Set against the majesty of the Serengeti Plains and to the evocative rhythms of Africa, Disney’s multi-award winning musical THE LION KING will redefine your expectations of theatre. Brilliantly reimagined by acclaimed director Julie Taymor, Disney’s beloved film has been transformed into a spectacular theatrical experience which has won over 70 major international theatre awards.
THE LION KING explodes with glorious colours, stunning effects and enchanting music including Elton John and Tim Rice’s Academy Award-winning ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’. At its heart is the powerful and moving story of Simba - the epic adventure of his journey from wide-eyed cub to his destined role as King of the Pridelands.
I watched the show while I was in sg. Set aside the expensive ticket (sgd165 for rm earner like me?!) and the 'slight' disappoinent I had over the theatre (small with the lecture-hall-seats alike chairs), it is an enjoying show.
The costumes are rich in colors, the songs are nice and the choreography is good.I like it but since the story is so familiar, I think I enjoy Siddharta and Siam Nirammit more although they might not be broadway shows but also colourful with good choreography n surprise me more in terms of the story :)
Nonetheless, the show is interesting and if you can grab the sgd65 or 85 tix, it's worth to watch :) don't worry about the view because the theatre is small so u will have a good view even with the cheaper tix :p
(watched movie 'black swan' today. Think I shall find a chance to watch the swan lake one day because now my memory of swan lake is actually the funny version from men in tutus, lol...)
